Deep tissue is a modality that is great for chronic pain and stress areas caused by tension. This deep work requires client and therapist to communicate on a pressure scale. Breath is to be focused on, it is important in the release of muscle tension. Deep tissue breaks up scar tissue,  releases adhesions in muscle tissue, decreased pain, release toxins  and increases range of motion in body. Water is required to help flush out toxins after massage.Â
Myofascial therapy is for specific issues in the different layers of fascia. Postural and range of motion assessment is performed on client to pin point the specific muscle that is causing the pain. Warming up the different layers of tissue allows the therapist to get deeper and  feel trigger points to be addressed. Working on a pressure scale with client as well as working with breath allows trigger points to melt! Benefits include, decreased pain, increased range of motion, breaks up adhesions, release of trigger points that cause tension.
Shiatsu is a Japanese style of massage the balances the mind, body and spirit. Shiatsu works with the meridians witch are energy pathways that coordinate with organs and Chakras of the body. Softening of the tissue is performed before pressure point therapy is applied along the meridians. If the body is balanced and energy or chi is free flowing then there is health. Stagnate or blocked energy or chi, creates disease.  Benefits include balance, and harmony with mind, body, and spirit, as increased range of motion, and decreased pain.
Sport massage is designed for athletic clients who might have an injury or need maintenance for active individuals to keep up their activities and improve. The use of heat or ice is used on injuries depending on the issue. Compressions, rocking,  gentle range of motion, passive stretching, and the use of tense and relax stretches benefit the client by increasing range of motion, decreasing pain, increasing blood flow as well as improves athletic performance.Â
